Hi everyone today I'll be discussing how to find your aesthetic or individual style.
1. The Fit of Clothes
The first thing that determines your aesthetic is how you want your clothing to fit for example do you like the fit of skinny jeans, baggy jeans, or flare jeans on your body. I prefer mom jeans on my body instead of a skinny jean fit. Also do you prefer your tops to fit tighter or baggy, for me I like a mix of both. How you like clothes to fit your body is big part of finding your style/aesthetic because, your clothing will be the base of your style.
2. What Shoes You Like
The second thing that determines your aesthetic is what shoes you like and look good on your feet for example do you like sneakers, heels, or boots. I prefer sneakers. Along with the type of shoe you also need to figure out what style of shoe like chunky, platform, or flat sole shoes. If you're shorter maybe platform is your go to , or if you're tall maybe a more flat sole shoe will be your got to, and if you have a skinny ankle maybe chunky shoes will be flattering. For me I wear a combination of all 3, but I'm starting to prefer platform to give myself some height.
3. Jewelry
The final thing that determines your aesthetic is the types of jewelry you like, now in my opinion jewelry completely rely on what outfit you're wearing. For example if you're wearing a shirt with a lot of design then I think minimal jewelry would look the best, but if you have a plain outfit on more jewelry is necessary. But, there are different types of jewelry that you can wear with whatever outfit you choose such as dainty chokers, long necklaces, beaded rings and bracelets, and all types of rings. Some people may not like rings or bracelets, so they just wear earrings or necklaces and it looks great. In whatever outfit you wear I think jewelry is essential, and can also be a way of expressing yourself.
All 3 of these tips have helped me pick out my aesthetic and I hope they help you all. These tips are in no way me trying to tell anyone how to dress, having your own aesthetic/style is ultimately up to you. As long as you're happy and confident in what you wear, you'll look good regardless!
